Nostalgia: storms in north east Fife
This photo was taken during one of the worst storms in Scotland's history. It shows a cottage in Bow of Fife being battered by a fallen tree. The storms took place in January 1968 and mostly affected the Central Belt. The strongest gust was recorded at 140mph, and a number of people died.
The picture also shows a sign pointing to Dalhousie School in Monimail, a preparatory school for boys that opened in 1925 and closed in 1970, two years after this photo was taken.
