Weekend resurfacing works on A92
This southbound section of the A92 is used by around 20,000 vehicles every day and essential surface maintenance works are now required.
The works will begin at 7.30pm on Friday, June 3 and will take place over one weekend using 24 hour working, with the resurfacing completed by 6.30am on Monday, June 6.

Hide AdTemporary traffic management will be in place the night before for preparation works ahead of the resurfacing beginning on Friday evening, however this will be lifted before the Friday morning peak.
For the safety of roadworkers as well as motorists, a contraflow system of traffic management will be in place on the A92 between Cowdenbeath and Crossgates during the works.
The A92 Cowdenbeath Southbound on-slip will also be closed throughout the weekend for safety with a signed diversion in place via the A92 northbound to Lochgelly, where motorists can then rejoin the southbound A92 to resume their journey.
The work follows on from previous improvements on the A92 since March, including resurfacing at Preston Roundabout, Melville Lodges Roundabout, the Thornton Bypass and between Lochelly and Cowdenbeath.

Hide AdConsultation has taken place with local residents and stakeholders in advance of the resurfacing works to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.
Andy Thompson, BEAR Scotland North East, said: “The resurfacing between Cowdenbeath to Crossgates is the next phase in a series of improvement works that have been carried out along the A92 in recent months and has been designed to create a smoother and safer journey for motorists.
“The resurfacing has been scheduled to take place over one weekend to minimise delays, however we encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance and allow some extra time to reach their destination.”
