Fans of folk music will be heading west later this month for the Dunfermline Folk Weekend.
The event takes place from October 24-26 and the main guests for this year’s Saturday concert are Drever, McGuire and Young, who will be supported by BBC young traditional singer of the year Robyn Stapleton, with accompaniment by guitarist Hajime Takahashi.
There will also be concerts by award-winning Glasgow duo 50 Shades of Blue and a closing concert featuring local band Big River.
The weekend opens with a family ceilidh featuring the Dollarfield Ceilidh Band in the Baldridgeburn Community Centre on Friday, October 24 and families can also enjoy the traditional Halloween Party on Saturday afternoon, when there will be traditional games and songs to join in with.
The weekend also allows musicians and singers to participate in sessions, which have always attracted local and visiting performers.
Leading up to the weekend, Dunfermline Folk Club is organising Tuesday evening song workshops on October 7, 14 and 21 in the Thistle Tavern.
Details of all events and how to get tickets can be found on the club website at www.dunfermlinefolkclub.co.uk, or from Jeanie Gardiner on 01383 725872.
