What are the mystery banging sounds across Kirkcaldy?

People living on Raith estate and Newliston contacted the Press to enquire about the source of the noises which, they say have been coming at regular intervals throughout the day from around 8am.

Local councillor Kathleen Leslie also said she had been approached by one of her constituents about the noise.

Frank Lopez (63), who lives at Newliston said: “You hear about three or four loud bangs over about 30 seconds every half hour or so.

“I don’t think it is anything sinister, it’s probably a bird scarer or something.”
