Woman (83) critical after collision in Methil

An elderly woman is in a critical condition after a road traffic collision in Methil.

The 83-year old was badly injured after an incident involving a car in Wellesley Road, Methil.

It happened near to the junction with Patterson Street around 12.30 p.m. on Saturday.

The woman, who was a pedestrian, suffered serious injuries and was treated at the scene before being taken to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy, where her condition is said to be critical.

Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

Police Sergeant James Henry of Fife Division’s Road Policing Unit said: “We are currently investigating this collision and we are eager to speak to anyone who may have witnessed it.

“I would ask that anyone who was on Wellesley Road around 12.30pm on Saturday, November 5, and has information that can assist our inquiries, to come forward and get in touch with us immediately.”

The driver of the car was not injured.

The road was closed for an hour while initial inquiries were conducted.
