A woman has been arrested and charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act after police in Glenrothes recovered drugs worth over £10,000.
Officers from the Community Investigation Unit carried out a search of a property in the Cadham area on today (Wednesday) where cannabis and methadone were seized from within.
The 41-year-old is expected to appear in court at a later date.
This recovery marks the latest success for local officers as they continue to target those involved in drug crime within the community.
Community Sergeant Kenny Greig said: “This once again shows our commitment to tackling the sale and supply of controlled drugs within Glenrothes.
“These drugs were destined for our streets and we are not going to let people make a substantial income from this type of criminality. These types of crimes can have a significant detrimental effect on the quality of life for residents and this behaviour is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
“We have been told at local Community Engagement Meetings that this is an issue and we will strive to make our community a better place to live. This type of positive and pro-active police action ensures that any persons prepared to be involved in crimes of this nature are dealt with in a robust and forthright manner.
“Anyone wishing to report drug-related criminal activity in their area can contact us on 101 or make an anonymous report to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
