Hundreds of pupils from across Levenmouth put their dancing shoes on on Friday for the first ever Levenmouth Festival of Creative Dance.
The festival, which was held at Kirkland High School, was developed by the Visiting Teacher Service, Active Schools Fife and Kirkland staff to encourage children to take part in dance as a physical activity for all, supporting more children, more active, more often.
High school pupils at Kirkland welcomed over 300 younger children from Paxton Nursery, Mountfleurie, Parkhill, Buckhaven, Coaltown of Wemyss, Aberhill, East Wemyss and Denbeath for a morning of music, dance and culture from across the Commonwealth.
Jennifer Mann, who helped to organise the event, said: “The event was a roaring success, I was so glad we - Active Schools Fife, Kirkland High School and the Visiting Teacher Service - created this festival.
“It was fantastic seeing pupils with lots of smiles on their faces. There was a great hipe about the school. Even those not involved in dance routines were itching to get on their dancing shoes and get on the stage.”
