Youngsters at Aberhill Primary School recently enjoyed a colourful visit from well-known children’s writer, Stuart Reid.

The author gave a reading of his award-winning work ‘Gorgeous George and the Giant Geriatric Generator’ to pupils at the Methil school.

And their verdict? “We loved him!”

P7 pupils wrote their own report of Stuart’s visit, which proved to be a memorable day for all.

Said Carter Robb, Katie Myles and Demilee Moir: “He is an amazingly astounding, amusing Scottish author, who gave up a very successful career to become an author.

“He was very motivational, as he had us all hooked on his books. All of the titles of his books are alliterations.

“He also mentioned onomatopoeia, which are words that sound like what it is – for example, ZAP!”

The youngsters added: “He stayed with us for the morning and signed books. His next book to be released is the ‘Unidentified Unsinkable Underpants (part 2)’. He is currently working on a new project.”

Stuart Reid has held many book readings and a number of creative writing workshops.

Prior to becoming a children’s author, he was a regional manager in the hospitality industry and a general manager for a 300-bedroom hotel in Dubai.
