A STUNNING display of photographs depicting views of the world around us has opened in Kirkcaldy’s newest art gallery.
‘Simply World’ is a collection of 24 photographs by members of Kirkcaldy Photographic Society, put on show by Polish art curator, Katarzyna Jajszczok who is now living in the Lang Toun.
The exhibition, which runs until May 23 features everything from land and seascapes to industrial monuments, boats and portraits.
It was launched in the Cuppa Coffee House in the High Street last Friday and many of the photographers were present.
The work of the society has so impressed Kararzyna, who previously worked as a curator at an art gallery in Gliwice in Poland, that she has arranged for two exhibitions to go on show in her home country in mid June, and some of the photographers will be making the trip to Poland to see their work on show.
Katarzyna, known locally as Kate, said: “When I first went along to see the work of the Society I was amazed at how good some of it was and I was enthralled by the subject matter. I am delighted I will be able to show these photographs in Poland and I think that people there will enjoy it.”
