A mysterious virus took hold at Guardbridge Primary School this week - and it looks as if most of the children have been infected!

To mark the release of his second book, Falkirk-based author Stuart Reid visited the school for a special ‘Snot Zombie’ funday and all of the pupils were invited to dress up and take part.

His new title ‘Gorgeous George and The Zigzag Zit-faced Zombies’ follows the outbreak of a horrible snot-enducing virus sweeping the country.

Patsy McKay, headteacher at Guardbridge Primary said: “The day went really, really well. This was actually Stuart Reid’s second visit because he came to the school when he released his first book as well.

“The children were all very enthusisatic and very motivated by what he had to say.

“And hopefully this will help to inspire the children in their own writing too.”

The pupils are now eagerly awaiting the results of the ‘Best Zombie’ competition, which Stuart Reid is running throughout his book tour.
