The weekend saw a very busy unaffiliated show on Saturday and a BS Category 2 show on Sunday drawing combinations from across the country.

The unaffiliated course was built by local course builder Graham Barclay and started with a crosspoles clear round.

The only clear round was Casey Munro and Mr Frosty who then went on to also win the 45cm course.

Class 3 ( 55cm ) was won by Joanne McPherson riding Astra with Cupar-based Julia Edwards and Toby in second place.

Julia and Toby were also beaten to the red rosette in the 65cm class by Abbie Watson and Tyler.

Class 4 saw Howe regular Caitlyn McIntyre and Trojan expertly negotiate a very fast jump off to claim the red rosette with Jack Headon and Picasso in second.

Glenrothes Pony club member Charlotte Baillie headed the line up in the 85cm class from Finn Thomson and Abbie.

The last two classes of the day ( 95 and 105cm ) were both won by Samantha Douglas riding Ennis Owen.

This was Samantha’s first show in a considerable time and she was delighted to come back on such good form.

The BS Category 2 show was busy with competitors too as many people tried to win various qualifiers for several championships later in the year.

“The centre café , Blazing Saddles , will also be open all weekend so why not pop in for a breakfast roll and a wander round the car boot sale.

“During the school holidays, riding lessons are available throughout the day , as well as evenings and weekends, so if you are inspired by the GB equestrian teams in Rio, come and try riding as a sport.”
