Boost for Flyers as Aarssen arrives in time for season opener

Fife Flyers have been handed a boost ahead of the season opener this weekend with the arrival of Scott Aarssen.

The defenceman, signed from Sheffield Steelers during the summer, had missed the club's pre-season programme due to a delay in obtaining his visa.

However, the club has confirmed that the player arrived in Kirkcaldy with his family this morning and will take to the ice with his team mates for training tomorrow.

The 30-year-old Canadian will be in the line up this weekend as Flyers begin their latest Elite League campaign with back-to-back Challenge Cup fixtures against one of Aarssen's former clubs, Glasgow Clan, and Belfast Giants at Fife Ice Arena.
