“Over the last five years we’ve done quite a lot at the club and it’s beginning to come to an end,” he said.

“We want to get a sign on the wall and our fence runs along Windmill Road right opposite the new Windmill Campus so we want to get a banner put up there, advertising classes and things like that.

“So then we thought a new logo would be great. We’ve not really liked our current logo so we thought we would get a new one before the signs go up.

“We were thinking at the club, what with the kids being off school at the moment, that this might give them something to do.”

George says that in launching the competition it’s another way for the club to stay in contact with the local community.

He said: “Ours doors are closed basically and they will be until gyms get the go ahead to reopen.

“It’ll probably be one of the last things along with pubs and things like that.

“On our Facebook page we’re doing training sessions and various types of things. Boxing Scotland are also starting a YouTube channel for training so I’m hoping I can put that on our Facebook page too.

“We’re just trying to keep people engaged and keep in touch with our members. “

Entries for the competition, which has a closing date of June 13 can be entered now and the lucky winner will win £150.

“Our official colours are green and black but the one we use just now is sort of an olive green and it’s quite dull and doesn’t stand out enough,” George said.

“So the logo will mostly be on black clothing, also as a letterhead on white stationary and on white or green banners and signage on our building.”

He added: “We’re really looking forward to seeing what the local youngsters send in!”

To enter, send a PDF or JPG to [email protected].

The closing date for entries is June 13.
