Club designs 200th anniversary badge

The new 200th birthday badge for St Andrews Thistle Golf Club

In 2017, the St Andrews Thistle Golf Club will toast its 200th anniversary with a series of tournaments, competitions and commemorative matches.

There will also be a special exhibition at the British Golf Museum dedicated to the club’s long and eventful history.

To mark the advent of this bi-centenary, the club has commissioned the design of a special badge for adoption in all events and branding throughout 2017.

The new crest reflects an updated, contemporary feel, maintaining all elements of the club’s traditional badge – namely, the Saltire, thistle emblem and crossed golf clubs, complemented by the introduction of two gold-coloured

vertical bars recognising 200 years of golf.
