Local ice hockey team, Glenrothes Cougars, won the Scottish Plate at Dumfries Ice Bowl at the weekend.
The tournament consists of 10 teams split over two groups, playing each other once, before the semi-finals and final.
Cougars, featuring mostly players from Kirkcaldy, got off to a rough start narrowly losing there first game 3-2 to the Dundee Devils.
Cougars then stepped up the tempo for game two against Edinburgh Stingers to secure a 5-2 win.
In game three, Cougars beat Mariners 3-2, before a 5-1 win over Paisley Panters in the final group game saw the Fifers into the semi-finals, where they met Edinburgh Lions.
A 4-1 victory took Glenrothes into the final, where they once again emerged victorious, defeating Glasgow Chiefs 3-0.
Sean Annan, team captain, said: “After a poor start to the weekend the team pulled together and produced some of the best hockey that we have played all season.
“Top class individual performances combined with an excellent work rate from all the team saw us achieving our goal of winning the tournament.”
As a result of becoming Scottish Plate Champions 2015 the Glenrothes Cougars have been promoted to the Scottish Cup in 2016.
