Course PBs for a shoal of the Anster Haddies

Anster Haddies were out and about across the Kingdom over the weekend with several members recording strong times.

There was abig turnout of 22 for the fifth Mars Bar Race of the series.

Course PBs were recorded by Colin McKie, Davie Brisland, CJ MacPhail, John Pendell and Sarah Hutchison.

Winning ways continued at Parkruns in Kirkcaldy and St Andrews. In the former Bill Simpson was second in his age category and in the latter Jas Baillie was first in his age category.

Conditions were tough and the mud was over ankle deep at times at the Glentress Trail Half Marathon in the Scottish Borders.

The first to finish of the Haddie contingent was Fiona Cruickshanks in 2:44:57. Only a second later Yvonne Dehn finished the race.

Christine Bowie finished in 2:55:25, Angela Small finished in 2:59:13 and the Haddie men in the race, Jim Hogsflesh and George Hay were home in 3:35:59 and 3:36:02 respectively.

If the half seemed tough with the underfoot conditions then the marathon was over twice the slog.

Four brave Haddie ladies took on the challenge. First to make it back was Jaz Hay in 5:26:24.

Her mum Debz was second in her age category finishing in 5:40:01. Alice Hall and Pamela Cruickshanks were home together in 6:30:16.

There was also much more mud, a deep burn and an extremely undulating if picturesque course for the last Trailbusters Race in the three race series at Balbirnie Estate.

George Findlay finished top male in his age group for the series, finishing the third race in 29:16 and completing the series in 1:18:21.

Eric Anderson finished in 27:50 and ended up top Haddie in the series with an overall time of 1:13:31.

Bill Simpson finished in 31:29 and 1:23:46 overall.

The last Haddie to finish was Jennifer Gallagher in 47:43 with a time of 2:09:56 for the series.

Ewan Cameron was unable to do all three races in the series but finished the third one in a time of 31:49.
