CUPAR Golf Club held its major team event on Sunday – the famous ‘TSB’ open foursomes.
The tournament was this year generously sponsored by Grant and Paul Hughes from the Kingarroch Inn at Craigrothie, who both learned their golf at Cupar Golf Club several years ago!
The weather was kind and the course was in great condition.
A total of 26 teams of four took part in the competition, including three teams from the Kingarroch Inn.
However, they were unable to match the scores returned by some of the more experienced teams on the day.
This year, the Craigsanquhar Hotel won the famous TSB trophy with a team of Mark Lawson, Jacko Stubbs, Stuart Archibald and Mark White, who returned a net score of 129.5.
Competition was very close, as they only won the trophy by half a stroke from ‘The Breakfast Club’, last year’s winners and the Cupar Rugby Club team.
Best scratch score was an impressive 144 by the ‘Sibandits’, led by Robbie Sibanda, with a team of Gary Mitchell, Ian McInnes and Brian Heggie.
Runners-up were the ‘B.L.C.’ team, led by past captain, Duncan Moncur, with Calum Wilson, Davie Cooper and Duncan Ross, whilst the Douglas Clan team were third.
