Glens skipper Chris Greaves lost the toss before the club’s match with Carlton so the side was asked to bat first.

G Beghin and A Davies opened the batting for the Glens with both despatching the ball to all parts of the ground.

Glenrothes scored 71 before losing the first wicket of A Davies(32) as he spooned the ball to mid-off.

This brought skipper C.Greaves to the crease.

Graeme scoring to all parts of the ground looked set for a big knock as he flashed at a wide one and was caught at slip for 43.

In at four was Ben Wilkinson.

Both Chris and Ben moved the ball about as they brought the Glens 100 up.

Next to go was Chris(23) as he played round a straight on and got cleaned bowled with the score at 126-3 after 20 overs.

R.Wright joined Ben in the middle,

Glens kept the score moving with some classy strokes.

At drinks the local men were 153-3 after 25 overs of the game played.

The scoring continued and after teas Glens had 294 runs on the board and opened the bowling with K Crichton and V Reddy.

It was a rocky start for Glenrothes as the Carlton openers M Wells and K McPherson took advantage of the leg side bowling and were moving the score it to double figures.

With the rain showers passing through it made it hard to manage an increasingly slippy ball.

Glens kept the pressure on Carlton who were 141-4 in a flash.

Some great spin bowling from S.Lucas (two wickets), kept the rate down and Glens kept hauling things back.

C Greaves in his first three overs went for 23 runs and pulled it back as he picked up the last three wickets in his fourth over.
