Fife Flyers have made their sixth signing of the summer by securing the services of 26-year-old American forward Michael Dorr.
The right handed forward from Roseville, Minnesota, joins the Flyers following stints in the ECHL, DEL2, Germany 3 and is a graduate from Minnesota State University.
Dorr finished the 2013/14 season as second top goal scorer in the DEL2, with 54 points from 51 games for EC Bad Nauheim, although he has spent the past year recuperating from ankle surgery.
Dorr said he was “extremely excited” to be a Flyer, adding: “This is a great opportunity for me and I am working hard in the off season to put myself in position to have a successful year.
“I have heard nothing but great things about the fans and organisation and I’m looking forward to getting to Kirkcaldy and for the season to begin.”
Associate coach Danny Stewart added: “In Michael we are getting a guy that is a proven goal scorer.
“He took last season off to heal an ankle issue that required surgery but we are very confident he is back in form and will be ully fit for the season ahead.”
“In Germany he scored a ton and that’s what we will be looking for from him.
“Two seasons ago he scored 32 goals in the DEL2 which placed him second in the league, ahead of a lot of great players that have had success in the UK and Europe.
“He will be in our top six up front and be an offensive threat for us in all situations.”
