CHILDREN at Dunbog Primary School have been celebrating after receiving the Lloyds TSB Scotland School of the Month award.
The award, presented by Michelle Logie, manager at Lloyds TSB Scotland Cupar branch, was given in recognition of the enthusiasm of the school’s football team.
Despite having just over 50 children in the entire school, the team – which comprises boys and girls from primary 5, 6 and 7 – competed in every national match available.
Ms Logie said: “Congratulations to Dunbog for winning the Lloyds TSB Scotland School of the Month award.
“The team have shown exceptional dedication to their sport – to compete every week against much larger schools with more players to choose from is a fantastic achievement.”
Marion Paton, head teacher at Dunbog Primary School, said: “Our team has been a credit to the school and everyone has been cheering them on.
“We have a great team spirit here and although we are far smaller than many of our competitors, our dedication and enthusiasm help us on our journey.
“I think if there was a league for rural schools only we’d do really well.”
