Exciting times in a weekend of firsts for club

It was a weekend of firsts for several East Fife Tri-Club members, with some exciting results thrown in.

The local club faced some of the prime competition from fellow trathlon groups but again showed they could be a forced to be reckoned with.

At the Edinburgh Marathon Festival competitors faced a range of distances over the course of the weekend.

Adrian Wood and Heidi Orr both completed the half marathon, with Adrian proving he is going from strength to strength with another convincing PB of 1:32:58, and Heidi proudly finishing her first half marathon in 3:40:52.

Tricia Wallace took part in two events over the weekend, the Cairn O Mount Sportive on Saturday which she completed in 2:25, and she then joined the team at the Helix Novice Triathlon in Falkirk.

This was an exciting new event, ideal as a first open water triathlon, with a beautiful run route around the iconic Kelpies.

The club had members competing in the adult, youth and junior events, with podium places for the juniors.

In Tristars 1, Craig McFarlane finished third boy in a time of 19.45 and in Tristars 3 Màiri Noble finished third girl in a time of 25.51 both delighted with their successes in their triathlon debuts.

In the novice race, Finlay MacDonald raced in the youth category finishing in 45:23, Tricia Wallace in 47:13 and Samantha MacDonald in 54:13.

In Knockburn, Fleet Feet Triathletes hosted the Scottish Aquathlon Championships, with o superstar Jane Askey racing and claiming first place in the Super Vintage category and becoming Scottish Champion, again, in the process.
