Falkland Trail Runners' trio finish in top 10

Falkland Trail Runners had a successful day at Sunday's 7 miles Donkey Brae Race with the overall winner of the women's category and second place in the men's race.

The race starts and finishes at Aberdour’s Silver Sands. The scenic course is of mixed terrain over undulating coastal paths, run between Aberdour and Dalgety Bay.

A total of 368 runners completed the course, including 27 skwerls who were led home by Glenrothes member Chris Russell, who only had race winner Robert Watson, Musselburgh Athletic Club ahead of him.

In the female category there was success for FTR’s Judith Turner who also finished in 24th place overall. Bryan Innes in eighth and Dave Clark in 10th made it three in the top 10 finishers for FTR.

There was category placings for Tony Martin who was second over-60 and Beccy Clark who occupied a similar position in the Female under-18 age group.
