Kinross junior rally driver Blair Brown and co-driver, Richard Simmonds of Duns will be hoping to secure a finish in round three of this year's DMACK Junior British Rally Championship.

The event will be held this weekend in the Northumberland Keilder Forest.

Blair last attempted the Pirelli Carlisle Rally two years ago in his Peugeot 205 but after securing a class win on the first day bad luck of a broken gearstick meant a did not finish for the young driver.

This weekend the duo will once again undergo 75 miles of fast challenging gravel stages in an attempt to complete the unfinished business of this legendary rally and secure further points in their BRC campaign.

Blair said: “Looking back at the in-car footage in the Peugeot has reminded me what a fantastic event the Pirelli was and just how far I have come in my rallying career in two years.

“It is going to be a very different for us this time round in the Fiesta R2T but we are well prepared and ready for the challenge.

“The Kielder forests have really quick stags but are filled with some very big ditches so a consistent but fast approach is required.”

After car trouble whilst sitting third in class at the Circuit of Ireland Rally earlier this month, Brown and Simmonds dropped from fifth place in the championship. With a five further events and a joker card still to play for double points the duo remains optimistic of a top five finish in the overall.
