US forward Shayne Stockton is returning for a second season at Fife Flyers.
The 27-year-old from Rochester has quickly followed the recently re-signed Ryan Dingle in committing his future to the Kirkcaldy side for the 2016-17 campaign.
Stockton notched 51 points in his debut Elite League season, finishing just six points behind top scorer Dingle with 24 goals and 27 assists from 58 appearances.
“I’m very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the Fife Flyers organisation for another season,” Stockton said.
“I really enjoyed my time in Kirkcaldy last year and I am eager to start where we left off last season, and aim for some silverware.
“I’m looking forward to getting back to Kirkcaldy and putting the Flyers jersey on once again. Roll on September.”
Head coach Todd Dutiaume revealed that securing Stockton’s signature had been a “priority” as he looks to retain a core of last season’s play-off semi-final team.
“On ice he has a tremendous skill set that was extremely valuable to us in all situations,” he said.
“Down the stretch he featured heavily in all of our special teams and could be counted on to be involved in any big play when it was required of him.
“Off the ice he is just a great guy to have in the room; very positive and easy going, and well-liked by all his team mates.
“With a full season in the Elite League under his belt, Shayne will come in even stronger for us this season and remain an integral part of the Flyers line up.”
