Fife woman smashes records to claim powerlifting titles

Glenrothes weightlifter Wendy MacFarlane produced a stunning performance at the Scottish Power Lifting Eastern Districts Competition held at Raw Anatomy Gym in Glenrothes.

Wendy (pictured), a former pupil of Glenrothes High, has only been involved in the sport of powerlifting for one year but enjoyed outstanding success at the event.

She won the Overall Lifter title with a total score of 420 kilos, which is a Scottish record in her weight category, where she also finished in first place.

She also broke the Scottish record for squat lifting 165 kilos, as well as the Scottish deadlift record, lifting 175 kilos.

Wendy works as an accounts assistant at Pinkertons Bar in Glenrothes and attends Raw Anatomy Gym daily.
