Scotland are aiming for revenge after losing out to their English counterparts when the event was held in the Borders last year.

Five disabled golfers have qualified through the Scottish Order of Merit championship tables, with a sixth as a captain’s wild-card selection plus a team coach, will all travel down to Northumberland to play from Monday 20 to Wednesday 23 June.

Bob Drysdale of Tayport is the wild-card selection, with Norman Ross of Cupar providing support and coaching for team members.

The Kingdom qualifiers are Derek Milne of Upper Largo, Jim Gales of Springfield, Les McConachie of St Andrews and Trevor Crombie of Kirkcaldy.

Jim Gales said: “The English won last year at the Cardrona Hotel in the Borders, so we are after turning that result around.

“For this particular event, we meet up with a great bunch from around England and although everyone wants to go out there and win their points for both teams, much emphasis is put onto the 19th hole and the social aspect of the competition”.
