Findlay's gold standard

The top swimmers from CADSC were to be found competing at two high-level meets recently.

The group was at the Carnegie Open Spring Age Group Meet at the Michael Woods Centre in Glenrothes and Hearts SNAGS Last Chance Meet at the Xcite Sports Centre in Bathgate.

And it proved to be another weekend to remember for the local club and its members

At Hearts, Findlay Baillie smashed his times and achieved his goal, with two gold medals and SNAGS qualifying times in the 15Y 200m and 100m Breaststroke, also breaking a club record in the 200m event.

Oliver Goad won silver in 14Y 100m backstroke and bronze in 100m freestyle and Sophie Juskowiak won silver in 11-13Y 200m butterfly.

Hannah Staal secured firm pds in 11-13Y 200m IM, 200m breaststroke, 100m butterfly, while Charlotte Williamson and Eve Hewitt produced strong times in backstroke and breaststroke.

At Carnegie, Sophie Juskowiak brought home gold in 400m IM and 100m breaststroke, silver in 100m butterfly and bronze in 50m freestyle; while team-mate Kate Dalglish won silver in 100m backstroke and made strong pbs in 200m breaststroke, 200m and 100m backstroke and Hannah Staal secured a final position in 50m breaststroke (all 11-12Y).

Other pbs gained included 11-12Y Milli Arkwright in 200m breaststroke, 13-14Y Eve Hewitt in 200m freestyle and Oliver Goad in 100m backstroke, 200m freestyle.
