First win for Buckhaven in inter-school contests
The event was organised in conjunction with Fife Athletic Club, with support from Kirkcaldy Rugby Club.
And, for the second year, the occasion followed on from the Fife Primary Schools Cross Country Championships, organised by Fife Schools Athletic Association with Fife Athletic Club.

Hide AdOver 100 athletes with a physical, sensory or learning disability from schools across Fife participated, approximately 20 more than in the first year.
Rimbleton, Burntisland and Rosslyn pupils were represented in the Primary races and Balwearie, Bell Baxter, Buckhaven, Lochgelly and Woodmill High Schools, along with Madras College and Rosslyn, were represented in the secondary events.
Buckhaven High School pupils won their first inter schools title in any sport and the coveted Russell Hogg Cross Country Trophy, by having more top three finishers than any other school.
The Buckhaven HS total was 15 points, six ahead of Woodmill HS and seven ahead of third equal Madras College and Balwearie.

Hide AdRimbleton Primary School pupils Garry Patrick, Alexander Scott and Walter Donaldson were race winners in the Primary section over 1K, with Kerry MacNicol Burntisland PS winning the fourth and final title.
In the S1/S2 section over 1K, races were won by Joy Hutchison and Leo Henry from Buckhaven HS, plus Billy Lowe (Balwearie), Nathan Lee (Madras College) and Connor Brown (Woodmill).
In the S3-S6 races over 1K, titles went to Richard Allan of Buckhaven High, along with Chloe Hutchison (Madras College) and Jennifer Paton ( Balwearie).
The final races were run over 2K and 3K and, over the shorter distance, Louise Harley (Lochgelly), and Woodmill pair Casey Donaldson and Mathew Blair were winners.

Hide AdCameron Cairns from Madras College won the junior boys 3K race and Fife AC athletes Owen Miller and Sam Fernando finished first and second respectively in the senior men’s 3K in times of 8:57 and 9:26.
