Linlithgow were the visitors to Barnetts Park last Saturday in both clubs’ penultimate match of the season.

After the home team led at half time, the visitors staged a

second half fight back, to claim all three points in an exciting match.

After only six minutes, Linlithgow came close to the opener when Kevin Kelbie hit the outside of a post, with a shot from 22 yards. Two minutes later United opened the scoring when a Jamie McNeish throw in found Liam Rolland near the bye line.

The Dundonald Bluebell loanee thundered a shot over keeper Michael McKinven to score his third goal of the season.

Linlithgow equalised after 62 minutes when Michael Jones fired a low shot into the net, despite a vain attempt by Sean Murdoch to clear off the line.

In United’s next attack Linlithgow were reduced to 10 men when Gary Thom was shown a straight red card after getting involved with Barry Sibanda.

The visitors scored what proved to be the winner after 72 minutes when Ruari Maclennan found Conner Kelly who scored easily as

the whole United defence claimed for an offside flag that never came.

Linlithgow had an opportunity to score goal number three after 77 minutes when Kevin McMullan was adjudged to have fouled Conner Kelly just inside the penalty box.

Mark Tyrell took the spot kick, but Darren Clarkson made afabulous save to keep his team in the match.
