East Fife notched a much deserved win over Airdrie at the weekend and boss Darren Young is hoping that it’ll act as the catalyst for a run of good form.

The Fifers went into the game at the foot of League One but showed just how much of a false position that was, convincingly seeing off a Diamonds side which has impressed this term.

East Fife have previous for stringing long unbeaten runs together, and boss Young wants a repeat.

“We always seem to go on a wee run, I think last season it was about 11 games in a row,” said the boss.

“We’ve got that in us and hopefully we can become a little more settled now.

“There’s been a bit of chopping and changing with suspensions and injuries so we’ve not had a settled team.

“Danny Swanson is getting fitter every week which is great to see.

“He’ll be frustrated he’s not been able to get involved but, at the same time, that’s all credit to the boys on the park who have been doing very well and putting in performances.

“The guys who are out of the team are desperate to get in and the guys who are in want to stay there.

“It’s great for us and the past two or three training sessions have been outstanding.”

Next up for the Methil men is the long trip to face Peterhead.

“Peterhead are a big, strong stuffy team and we know what they’ll be like.

“We’ve played them over the years and have a few boys we know about.

“The boy Brown in the middle of the is a good player so they’ll be hard to break down.

“We got a good result against Airdrie so there’s no reason why we can’t go up there confident and look to pick up another three points.”
