AMsoccer Club got their new season off to the perfect start against Methilhill.
The first chance of the match fell to AM as Aedan Brown arrived in the box but side footed a cut back high over the bar.
The visitors responded brightly and would dictate the game for a 25 minute spell without forcing youngster Burt into serious action.
A change of shape at half time allowed AM to retain the ball far better and on 53 minutes a fantastic save from Burt set AM on a counter attack which led to a chipped pass releasing Lawson who curled a delightful finish over the visiting ‘keeper.
Five minutes later Methilhill struck the frame of the AM goal with a cross and another swift counter attack released Lawson who raced clear to double his tally.
The introduction of Galloway and G Reilly added further potency to the AM attack and a carbon copy of the second goal saw Reilly sneak through from midfield and make up 30 yards before rounding the keeper for 3-0.
A fourth goal would arrive, as youngster Macaulay raided forward from right back and he controlled before curling a beauty over the Methilhill goalkeeper.
The visitors were awarded a penalty,which 16 year old goalkeeper Burt acrobatically tipped onto the post gathering. Methilhill would not be denied their goal and a cross dropped six yards out and was nodded home for a consolation.
