AM Soccer 5-0 Boness

AM led after two minutes when a well worked set play was blocked and Gary Reilly reacted first to bullet home from eight yards.

Boness reacted positively and a surging run from their left winger was a clear warning to AM’s rearguard.

Porteus and Watt also had their hands full with the visiting centre forward but were up to the task.

An early pass by Reilly released Galloway, who was giving the visiting centre backs a torrid time, and he made the byeline before cutting back to Lawson who blasted low for 2-0.

Galloway would make it 3-0 when he was released beyond the visiting backline and he took a glance at goal before thumping a shot home.

AM were clinical but the threat from Boness was very real, especially at set plays with half a dozen players over six feet tall offering a menacing presence.

As expected, Boness would emerge for the second half in fighting spirit and AM countered this by meting them high up the pitch and never allowing them to settle in possession.

Just when the game was slowing down, Galloway wriggled clear and after creating an angle for himself, he again managed to beat the Boness goalkeeper at his near post for his second and AM’s fourth.

Lawson would complete the scoring.

Brown, Davidson, Reilly and Bell were excellent across AM’s midfield but MOM was Galloway.

AMsoccer Reserves were involved in a thrilling Scottish Cup tie which ended up 5-5 last Saturday.

A fantastic first half performance saw AM lead their high flying hosts 3-2 but with four minutes left to play, AM were 5-3 down.

An absolute rocket from Callum Player pulled AM to within one and in injury time Sean Grant equalised.
