The game is under way
5: Raith effort
A good shot from outside the box by Raith’s Kai Kennedy is pushed away by Pars stopper Owain Fon Williams.
7: Early touch
EWan Henderson of Dunfemline delivers the ball into the box after a move started by Kerr McInroy and Joshua Edwards but it was too close to home ‘keeper Jamie MacDonald.
14: Given away
McInroy gave the ball away in midfield enabling Raith to attack but robust defending from the Pars’ Euan Murray cleared the threat. From a corner soon afterwards, Jamie Gullan tried to bend a shot around the post but the ball went wide.
16: Goal for Rovers!
Raith took the lead after 16 minutes when Brad Spencer played a pass to Regan Hendry, who scored from close in.
20: Pars equalise!
Raith’s lead lasted barely four minutes as, from a short throw-in, Scott Banks sent in a high cross from the right and Kevin OHara netted with a relatively simple header.
24: Better options
Lewis Vaughan of Raith, on from the start, played a short corner to goalscorer Hendry but he decided on a right foot shot which went wide, when his teammates reckoned there may have been better options by crossing into the box.
30: Raith regain lead!
A slick little move on the left flank gave the lead back to the home side on the half hour. Kieran MacDonald and Jamie Gullan worked a neat interchange for MacDonald to send over a textbook cross, which was snapped up by Lewis Vaughan from six yards.
34: Yellow card
Dunfermline goalscorer O’Hara became the first booking of the evening on 34 minutes for a scything challenge on Hendry.
38: Vaughan scores again for Raith!
A free kick helped put Rovers 3-1 up after 38 minutes. Hendry looked as if he would take it but Lewis Vaughan floated the ball into Dunfermline’s box. The flight of the ball and the Raith attackers’ efforts to head it confused everyone and the ball landed in the net.
7.51pm: Half time at Kirkcaldy
Referee Euan Anderson brings a prompt end to proceedings with Raith Rovers leading Dunfermline 3-1. The visitors must have felt they were in with a chance after scoring a too-easy equaliser in 20 minutes, but they’ve produced virtually nothing in attack since then. There was an element of luck about Rovers’ third goal but they certainly deserve to be in front.
8.08pm Second haf begins
Dunfermline restart with a double substitution. Kerr McInroy and Scott Banks are withdrawn by gaffer Stevie Crawford in favour of Lewis McCann and Iain Wilson.
47: Another Raith goal!
But Dunfermline are in real trouble now as Jamie Gullan blasts Raith into a 4-1 lead.
48: Pars advances
Dunfermline actually had a couple of openings on either side of Gullan’s counter. A low shot was saved by MacDonald, who was later fouled as the Pars made a menacing foray into the penalty box.
