Dave Baikie took charge of Tayport for the final time and bowed out with an enthralling win in the second round of the Scottish Junior Cup.

It’s a tournament in which he has enjoyed so much success over the years.

In a fascinating encounter, hosts Parkvale made it four apiece in time added on, only for ‘Port midfielder Ryan Suttie to volley home a late, late winner to claim the tie in dramatic fashion.

The opening goal came Tayport’s way in the 11th minute.

Matt Adam raced clear into the box and, as the goalkeeper advanced, Adam set up Gary Sutherland who bundled the ball home.

The Vale levelled on 22 minutes.

David Baillie charged down a Gavin Wilson clearance and managed to slide the loose ball into the net.

Eight minutes later, Wilson was beaten again, by a head flick, from a long throw into the box and Tayport trailed 2-1.

Within two minutes, parity had been restored when Sutherland netted his second.

On 35 minutes Scott Finlay’s set-piece deceived the home ‘keeper and the ball bounced low into the corner of the net.

On the stroke of half-time, the hosts again levelled with Michael Keller nodding home.

With an hour gone Tayport edged back into the lead with Dale Robertson thumping a side-footed shot home.

An altercation then saw both sides reduced to ten men when ‘Port substitute Marc Ogg and Parkvale’s David Baillie clashed.

Just when it looked like Tayport would hold on Milne fired in the eighth goal of the game.

In the two minutes of injury-time Baikie’s men pushed for the win.

A long thrown-in by John Ovenstone was cleared to Ryan Suttie whose crisp volley sailed into the back of the net to seal the win.
