Bonnyrigg 7-0 St Andrews United


This one sided match was reminiscent of United’s 5-0 thrashing to Broughty Athletic earlier in the season.
At no time in the game did Saints look like the team that had recently defeated Musselburgh Athletic 3-0.

Sean Murdoch.
The home team had two goals disallowed before they opened their account after 27 minutes.
Adam Nelson crossed to Wayne McIntosh who out jumped Sean Murdoch to head past keeper Gavin Wilson.
Bonnyrigg doubled their lead a few minutes later in controversial circumstances.

Hide AdAn early linesman’s flag for offside was ignored by referee Duncan Smith and Kieran McGachieput the ball in the net, despite a mass protest from the United players.
McIntosh scored goal number three after 38 minutes when a one, two between Lewis Turner and Scott Gray opened up the visitors’ defence and
the striker scored at the second attempt.
United’s day went from bad to worse five minutes into the second half when Craig Wedderburn was woefully short when he tried to knee the ball back
to Wilson.
McGachie nipped in and scored easily.
Bonnyrigg scored goal number five after 70 minutes when McGachie chested the ball down to McIntosh.

Hide AdHe in turn laid the ball into the path of Gray, who fired a shot from the edge of the box that beat Wilson, despite the keeper getting a
strong hand to the ball.
McIntosh scored two further goals in the last 10 minutes to take his tally for the day to four and his team’s score to seven.
