The two will meet on the west coast on Tuesday night, with Naysmith’s side aiming to build on the two points they picked up against Dundee at the weekend.

A 4-2 penalty shoot-out win secured a bonus point for East Fife after the two drew 1-1 in normal time.

But gaffer Naysmith said before the tournament started he would be using it to shuffle his pack and ensure all of his players are given game time ahead of the start of the League One campaign.

The Bayview boss is staying true to his word.

He said: “Win or lose against Dundee I told the players we’d be making four changes for Tuesday barring injuries.

“I’ll be sticking to that so there will be a minimum of four changes to the team and we’ll freshen things up.”

Dumbarton started their League Cup campaign with just a point after having drawn 2-2 with Forfar.

The Station Park side won the bonus point on penalties.
