A late change of venue saw this FAFA Championship tie reversed after the Falkland pitch fellfoul to the incessant rain.

Although heavy, the Balmullo pitch was deemed playable much to the relief of both sides.

The Balmullo side took the lead when Moir latched onto a loose ball before curling an inch perfect shot into the top corner of the net.

Just before the half hour Falkland were back on level terms after Henderson upended Garden in the box resulting in a penalty which Hood duly dispatched past Henderson.

Thistle started the second half well with only a fine save from Brown denying Shepherd from restoring Thistle’s.

Against the run of play it was the visitors who took the lead when Garden spotted Henderson off his line and sent a perfectly weighted looping shot over the keeper and off the underside of the bar from 25 yards.

The equaliser wasn’t to be far away and with 66 minutes gone substitute Brown drove forward with the ball before releasing Shepherd who slipped the ball past Brown.

Falkland keeper Brown was in inspired form and pulled of a great double save just a minute after the equaliser.

Thistle got what was to prove to be the winning goal and it was the impressive Moir who was the creator when he showed outstanding control to gather a dropping ball, turn and slip a defence splitting pass through to Barnes who slotted the ball into the bottom corner of the net for his 17th goal of the campaign.
