Dale Reid saw a shot saved by home ‘keeper Jack Shaw, while the goalie also denied Connaire Connelly by tipping his curling free kick over the bar.
On 14 minutes ‘Port made the breakthrough.
Kieran Conway crossed from the right and Shaw failed to deal with the high ball.

Hide AdBoth Reid and Sergio Alvarez were there to challenge for the loose ball and it was Reid who slotted into an empty net.
At the other end, Gavin Sorley had to save from striker Craig Mollison, who had raced through the middle and could not quite get his lob over the Tayport goalie.
In the 38th minute Liam Ross made his way to the bye-line and cut back for Reid who angled a low first-timer into the far corner for his second counter of the afternoon.
Two up, it looked like ‘Port would cruise to victory, but, on the stroke of half-time, Coupar’s Chris Liversedge won a penalty after being fouled by Scott McDowell.

Connaire Connelly tested Shaw early in the second half after more quick play by Ross but the chances then dried up.
There was nothing noteworthy for the next half hour, although Tayport did end the match on a positive note.
Sergio Alvarez saw a shot saved by Shaw on 80 minutes, then, late in the match the ‘keeper tipped over Connaire Connelly’s header.

Hide AdFrom the quick, short corner, Alvarez delivered into the box and substitute Grant Mowatt stooped to send his header beyond Shaw.
