Crossgates Primrose 2-2 Kirkcaldy YM

Draw specialists Kirkcaldy YM once again came away from Humbug Park with a point, but they made it difficult for themselves and really should have taken all three points on chances created and possession.

YM dominated the first twenty minutes and should have gone ahead on several occasions with Joe Kinninmonth, Calum Geddes and Kyle Fenton having good chances.

The home side went ahead in 31 mins, when a square ball found Liam Forbes unmarked and he had the easiest of opportunities to put his side in front.

YM hit back six minutes later when a great run and shot from the trialist midfielder beat Stuart Allan in the home goal.

The second half of the match followed a similar pattern and midway through Darren Carroll put Crossgates in front again.

YM then had Lee Henderson sent off for a second bookable offence, and it looked as if the homeside would claim victory.

With five minutes to play YM were awarded a free kick just outside the box. David Byrne’s shot hit the post and fell to Joe Kinninmonth who clipped the ball home to level the scores.

The home side then had a man sent off in the dying minutes, but neither side could get the elusive winner.

This weekend YM travel to West Calder United.
