The home side’s second came in spectacular fashion when Martin Woods collected a Scott McKay pass and composed himself to place the ball perfectly into the top corner from 30 yards giving the ‘keeper no chance.

Jakub Dobes tried his luck from distance but his shot went just wide.

Just before the break a great individual effort by Jakub Dobes saw him make a mazy run down the wing only to shoot across the goal.

A flat start to the second period saw little action before the visitors pulled one back on 64 minutes when Liam MacDuff netted after poor defending by Hearts.

Then a great bit of play by Cupar saw Jakub Dobes run up the wing to find Martin Woods after doing well to win the ball. He then skinned a defender and found a cross to Scott McKay but his shot was saved by the ‘keeper.

A massive let off for Hearts saw an unmarked Dylan Gilmour head over at the back post with Cupar shouting for offside.

Cupar’s poor defending would be punished again though deep into stoppage time when Renato Sartarello headed in Jordan Hutchison’s crossed unmarked into an open goal.

A disappointing result for Hearts with a share of the points seeing Premier League new boys Kirkcaldy remain unbeaten.

Tomorrow (Saturday) Cupar Hearts host Fossoway in a league match.

Kick off 2PM.
