Cupar Hearts welcomed Kennoway to the Duffus Park last Saturday and continued their quick firing ways with two goals in the opening 10 minutes.

Hearts have been in insatiable form throughout pre-season and into the campaign, hitting plenty of goals as they put sides to the sword.

The first goal on Saturday came when Richie Lawson collected the ball out wide and finished his run into the box with a low drive on three minutes.

Then Jamie Leslie latched onto a long ball and expertly curled it into the bottom corner.

Kennoway got themselves back into the game from the penalty spot when Kyle Baker fouled Mitchell Davis and he converted the kick.

Then ten minutes later a Barry Sibanda header after a quality Richie Lawson cross saw Hearts regain their two goal cushion.

On the half hour mark another penalty for the visitors after a Scott Young foul saw the same man Mitchell Davis step up and he made no mistake sending the ‘keeper the wrong way.

Ten minutes into the second half saw the referee point to the spot for a third penalty but this time for the home side.

Scott McBride burst the net with his kick giving the ‘keeper no chance for Cupar’s fourth.

Excellent play by Cupar saw them conclude the scoring when a drive forward by Richie Lawson found Scott McBride out wide.

His cross flashed across the face of goal for Kyle Baker incoming at the back post to divert the ball into the net.

Cupar went into the weekend’s game on the back of a 3-2 friendly win over Riverside.

Aaron Anderson and Ryan Buchan were the men on the scoresheet for the Duffus Park side.
