The Scottish Football Association this week confirmed that all football below Championship level would be put on hiatus until February 6 at the earliest.

That decision is being made due to a rise in Covid-19 cases across the country.

Saints had been scheduled to face Haddington Athletic away from home last weekend but that fixture was a victim of the freezing underfoot conditions.

Had they played the game, then it’s the last fixture they would have taken part in until football is allowed to resume at start of next month.

In response to the decision, St Andrews United told the Citizen: “On the whole, most folk at St Andrews United are disappointed with the SFA’s decision.

“However, we appreciate the topic is very divisive.

“Since there are strong arguments for continuing to play as well as suspending all football for an indefinite period of time, we will make no further comment on the matter right now.”

Off the park, Saints continue to be active and this week have taken delivery of their 2021 calendars.

They are available for sale now and feature a combination of images showing the current squad and club legends from the past.

Calendars are priced at £15 and anyone wishing to buy one should email [email protected]
