St Andrews United welcome league leaders Dalkeith Thistle to The Parkk this weekend for a tasty East Region Premier League encounter.
The Lothian side currently sit in pole position at the top of the table with Phil McGuire’s Saints hanging on to their coat tails in third, albeit with three games in hand.
The United manager said: “The first game at Kings Park, we lost 2-1 to a controversial late goal. We played well that day for long periods, so we must show that again.
“For me, its simple. We respect them, as they have worked hard to be in that position, but we have no reason to be fearful and must look to get at them from the first minute to the last.
“I am sure whatever team I put out will respond with the right attitude and, if not, we have players chomping at the bit to get involved and show what they can do.”
McGuire was unhappy at the manner of the 2-0 defeat to Broughty on Saturday.
He said: “I was bitterly disappointed in the players and their first-half showing.
“They made up a bit for that in the second half but will need to learn that we can’t allow teams to come at us and give away cheap goals and expect to come back or turn it on when we need.
“This week, I will be reiterating to the players about importance of a positive mental attitude or bottle, what it takes to continue the hard work shown in the first half of the season and not to let the pressure get to them or allow their standards to drop.”
Kickoff is 2.30p.m.
