Dundonald take the three points as both sides see red

This was the first meeting of the season between these two local rivals and it was the visitors who had the better of the opening stages.

As the game progressed the ‘Bell got into their stride and started to press forward.

A great cross in from the left by Gay found Cargill at the back post and the striker headed home to give his side the lead.

Moments later Dundonald extended their lead when Cargill scored again.

With the first half drawing to a close the Haws gave themselves a lifeline when Kirby forced the ball home after Dundonald failed to clear their lines. Half time arrived with Bluebell leading 2-1.

The early part of the second half was an even affair with both teams fighting to gain the upper hand.

The visitors had a great chance to equalize when a ball to the back post found one of their players on his own but he blasted the ball over the bar.

The Haws made up for this miss when Watt slotted the ball home to draw them level.

Dundonald substitute Ross Mutch thought he had put his side back in front but the ‘Beath keeper somehow kept it out.

The match boiled over at this point and in the space of five minutes three players, two from Hill of Beath and one from Dundonald, saw red and were sent off.

Dundonald made their extra man pay and got the winner after Wallace and Cargill combined which allowed young Dail to fire home the winner.
