East Fife duo in the running for PFA Scotland League Two player of the year prize

The Fifes sit second in the fourth-tier table with one games to go after last Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Peterhead handed the Blue Toon the title.
Voted for by their fellow professionals, the pair have helped Dick Campbell’s side rack up 19 wins from 35 outings.

They will now face one of Edinburgh City or Elgin City in a two-legged semi-final tie with the second leg at the MGM Timber Bayview Stadium.
If they can progress then a two-legged final against League Two’s fourth-placed team or League One’s ninth-placed side awaits with the highest-finishing team at home in the second leg.
Both Munro and Trouten were included in the team of the year, which was announced last week. Team-mates Liam McFarlane, Brian Easton and Nathan Austin also made that list.

Attacker Trouten, 39, has managed 32 appearances despite suffering a near-death incident in October. When a dentist nicked the inside of his mouth with a sharp object, he lost five pints of blood and had to build up his haemoglobin levels again.
The veteran has bagged a league-best 22 goals this season and has chipped in with four assists too. He’s also the top goalscorer throughout the SPFL’s four divisions and is certainly the favourite to secure the top prize.
Going up against the East Fife pair for the award is Peterhead duo Ciaran Dunne and Andrew McCarthy.
