East Fife supporters boosted by call from squad
With the country on lockdown as communities observe guidance on social distancing, there’s a concern older people may become isolated.

Hide AdSo East Fife’s players each phoned an over 80-year-old season ticket holder to lift their spirits.
The gesture went down well amongst supporters who took to social media afterwards to thank the club.
Fan Paul Anderson said: “Well done @EastFifeFC. A great initiative from a great club.”

There is still no football on the horizon for Scotland’s clubs with the enforced break due to the coronavirus pandemic set to stretch until the end of April at the very earliest. It’s far more likely, though, that the game will not kick off again until summer.

Hide AdEast Fife chairman Jim Stevenson said: “Our final scheduled home match of this season against Falkirk would have generated income of around £20,000 on its own.
“We are also in a promising position within the league and were very much in contention for the promotion play-offs this year, matches which would have also generated a considerable amount of revenue for the club.”
Supporters haven been quick to offer their backing to the club and a fundraising page has been created with a target of £5000.
