THINGS are looking good for rising young players progressing through the East Fife FC ranks.

Specsavers in Leven is firmly focused on supporting the Bayview club.

Having sponsored the under-19s’ last year, it will also be backing the reserve squad in 2012-13.

As well as funding new kit, the High Street optician will also provide discounted eye care for all members of the playing staff.

East Fife director Brian McNeil said the club was very grateful, with a number of last year’s under-19s on the fringes of the first team.

He added: “Money from sponsors like Specsavers is ring-fenced for the youth system and re-invested into supporting our development programmes, so it directly benefits young players in the area.”

Adrian McCann, Leven store director, said: “We are proud to be able to support our local team and play a part in helping develop the club’s next generation of talent.”
