Ex-Raith Rovers star Bowie is on fire for Fulham
The 18-year-old has hit ten goals for Fulham’s U18 side this season and has found the net in his last seven games straight after what he admits was a slow start to his career in London.
"The transition was quite difficult,” he told the Whites’ website.
"It's taken me about six months just to get going but I feel like I've got used to the game and I'm playing with my own style.
"At the start I was trying too hard to be technical, but now I'm using my speed and physicality more."
Kirkcaldy born ‘Ziggy’ earned his move to the English Premiership after just one sensational season at his hometown club, where he hit 10 goals aged just 17 as Rovers won the League One title.
He originally played for Glenrothes before moving into the Fife Elite Academy, where he was spotted and picked up by Rovers' management team.
He made his first team debut aged just 16 at the end of the 2018/19 season, whilst still attending Kirkcaldy High School.
His impressive form alerted a number of clubs to his undoubted ability and it was Fulham who won the race for his signature, signing him on a pre-contract agreement in February 2020.
He says he now feels settled into the London side, the proof being his excellent scoring run which included a brace in a 4-0 win over West ham on Tuesday night.
"All of those are pretty much since January as I hadn't played many games before then. I'm pleased with that return.
"Every game we play, we look to outscore the other team, but at the moment we're keeping clean sheets as well.
"We've scored five, six and four in our last three games, so scoring is definitely something we pride ourselves on."
The young Whites are potentially just five games away from a second league title in a row, but Bowie insists that even with the finish line is sight, they are not looking too far ahead.
"The mentality is always the same every year, focus on finishing as high as we can and take each game as it comes.
"We just need one more big push now."
