Fife ladies prepare for final with rout

After last week’s exit in the second round of the Scottish Cup to Premier League side Rangers, East Fife were back at King George in league action against Forfar Farmington.
The Fifers needed to take care of their league tie before their League Cup final on Wednesday night at Ainslie Park, Edinburgh v Hibs.

Hide AdThe Fifers got off to a flyer, when a defence splitting pass from the Fife midfield played in Guppy on the left side of the box.
She took a touch before firing in at the near post on four minutes.
A minute later, the Fifers were two up, with an Anderson pass releasing Wheatley who rounded the keeper and rolled the ball in to the empty net.
On 33 minutes Skivington added to the scoreline.
She linked well with the midfield before beating two players and beating the ‘keeper.

Hide AdWheatley added her second on 38 minutes with a good run from deep, to beat the offside trap, and firing across the keeper.
Having lost Guppy to injury on 20 minutes, her replacement Fraser was next on the scoresheet.
A deep Whealtley corner was met by Fraser the back post and she used her instinct to knee the ball over the line.
Fraser completed the scoring with a finish low across the keeper.

Hide AdPlayer-coach Anderson said, “We had to ensure that we kept our eye on the ball today and took care of this game before thinking ahead to the cup final. We were good in the first half, but took our foot off the gas in the second half. We certainly wont be afforded such luxuries in our final.”
