Rosebank..........................1

Thistle were looking to put their woeful performance away to Glenrothes the previous Saturday out of their minds and did so against Rosebank.

Things didn’t start so brightly with the hosts trailing with little over five minutes on the clock when McGregor beat Sullivan.

Thistle responded well by pulling themselves back level shortly afterwards when a zipped ball into the box from Bell saw Allan well placed to open his account for the season.

Just two minutes later Thistle were in front when Allan turned a Carson ball into the path of Barnes who took his chance well.

Thistle were looking in the mood as their opponents struggled to break out their own half.

The home side did grab a third goal just before the half hour when a powerful header from Badu was sent wide by Barnes to Rintoul who finished with aplomb.

Thistle were finding Manderson in the visitors goal in fine form as the keeper pulled of several excellent saves to keep his side in the match.

The break seemed to take the momentum out of the game as, although Thistle continued to edge the play, there was little for either keeper to deal with.

In stoppage time Thistle grabbed the fourth goal their play merited when Barnes collected a McLuckie through ball before holding of the attentions of Saunders and slotting past the advancing Manderson with a composed finish.
